Tully Sugar Limited Bagasse Utilization and Generator Replacement Project

Testing of the first lot of six control equipment panels for Tully Sugar Mill has been completed and panels are ready to be crated for transportation. The remaining fifteen panels are in progress.

Well done to Energy Power workshop team for their efforts and our sincere appreciation to Tully Sugar for their confidence in undertaking this project.

The control equipment is for two 11/22 kV Grid Interconnectors, an 11/11 kV Inter-tie (connection between new and existing 11kV switchboards), two steam turbine generators (new Siemens 18MW extraction/condensing and existing Siemens 10MW back pressure) and three CAT 1.6MW diesel engine generators.

The new control equipment comprises Heinzmann Si-TEC Xtend digital master controllers and digital governing systems, Basler Electric DECS250 AVR’s (with PSS’s for STG’s) and ABB AC800M controllers communicating to remote S800 I/O. Power studies are currently been undertaken by Energy Power to achieve generator registration with AEMO. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, installation is delayed with commissioning now expected to occur at the end of the cane harvesting season in December 2020.
